The solemn ceremony on Saturday marked the commissioning of a new residential complex erected at the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov along the highway leading to the Turkmenabat International Airport in the administrative center of Lebap velayat.
The celebration was attended by governmental officials, representatives of the local administrations, public organizations, honorary elders and youth, the country’s official media reports.
The new complex, covering 23 hectares, consists of 17 four-storey residential buildings and 70 two-storey cottage-type houses.
The new buildings were built upon the order of the Turkmenabat city administration by the Lebapgurluşyk (Lebap Construction) Production Association, the Şähergurluşyk we Hyzmat state enterprise under the city administration, and the Demirbetonönümleri and Demirbetonkonstruksiýa enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production.
The 17 four-storey buildings are designed to house 544 families and include 32 three- and four-room apartments. The total area of a three-room apartment is 105 square meters and a four-room apartment is 123 square meters. The area of 5-room cottages are 241.5 square meters each.
The houses were built using eco-friendly domestic building materials and are equipped with a centralized system of heat, energy, gas and water supply. The territory adjacent to the new buildings also have children's playgrounds and sports areas, according to the report.
Two new shopping centers were also built within the new residential complex project.
In early September, two four-storey residential buildings were commissioned in the city of Anev in Ahal velayat.
