Turkmenistan will send the humanitarian aid to neighboring Afghanistan in the near future, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday instructed the Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to organize the dispatch of the aid.
President Berdimuhamedov also instructed the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Shahym Abdyrahmanov, overseeing the country's oil and gas industry, to keep under close control the progress of construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
During government meeting, the Turkmen Leader also gave instructions to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet Charymyrat Purchekov, overseeing the industrial and construction complex, to continue building the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line in spite of existing difficulties.
At the end of November, the Afghan and Turkmen officials held a conference in Afghanistan’s western province of Herat to discuss the practical work on joint projects. The participants included acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan Mohammad Isa, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Afghanistan Hoja Ovezov and other officials from the two countries.
