Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Honored For His Contributions to Turkmenistan's Diplomacy
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received the distinctive insignia at the Ruhiyet palace in Ashgabat.

The Mejlis chamber of the country’s bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh on Friday awarded the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the distinctive insignia "Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty" (Skillful Diplomat of Turkmenistan) for his contributions to improving Turkmenistan's international standing.

The Mejlis adopted the Resolution on awarding the Turkmen President with the distinctive insignia on the basis of an appeal from the country’s Foreign Ministry.

President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov received the distinctive insignia at the Ruhiyet palace in Ashgabat. Addressing the audience and thanking for this award, The Turkmen Leader said he perceives it as an expression of trust and respect shown to him by the citizens.

The Turkmen Leader also presented his new book "Abadançylygyň röwşen gadamlary", which contains his public speeches and summarizes his thoughts on the ways of the country's development, its foreign policy, economy, culture and science. At the same time, the new book includes many proposals concerning the further development of the country.

The distinctive insignia "Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty" was established by the Resolution of the Turkmen Leader signed on February 9, 2021, to honor the staff of the national diplomatic service for personal contribution to implementation of peace-loving and constructive foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan, strengthening relations with foreign states in political, trade and economic, scientific, educational, cultural, humanitarian and other fields, expanding the effective dialogue with the leading international organizations and for other services to the country.

Turkmanistan celebrates the Day of Diplomatic Workers annually on February 18.
