The UNDP and the Türkmenaragatnaşyk (Turkmen Communications) Agency of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan signed the Memorandum of Understanding at the building of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry on Friday, the UNDP in Turkmenistan said in its press release.
The purpose of the MoU is to expand cooperation in the field of digital transformation of public administration, by introducing an electronic data interchange system in Turkmenistan, including the design and development of the system, improving the regulatory legal framework to implement the system of electronic data interchange, introducing international best practices and increasing national potential in the field of digital transformation of public administration.
The implementation of the document is expected to support the realization of the national priorities in the area of digital development outlined in the Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025 and the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025.
The MoU will also support the global efforts of the UNDP for digital transformation to help countries create a world in which digital technologies are an empowering force for people and the planet in line with the recently launched Digital Strategy 2022-2025.
