The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in a Tuesday phone call with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey is one of the country's strategic partners in trade-economic sphere.
Focusing on this sphere, the sides stressed the need to use the potential of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation and the joint business council for strengthening an effective partnership and implementation of new joint large-scale projects, the official Turkmen media reports.
The Heads of States also exchanged congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, known in Turkmenistan as Oraza Bayramy.
The Presidents highlighted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey, saying that during this period, the two countries have established constructive political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian relations. The sides also underscored the presence of favorable conditions for expanding this productive cooperation.
Turkmenistan and Turkey will continue to establish fruitful contacts in science, education, culture, art and sports, the parties said. To this end, they confirmed their readiness to mutually support the efforts and initiatives aimed at building up the long-standing traditionally friendly cooperation and enriching its content.
At the end of the talks, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wished each other good health and success in responsible state activity, and to the peoples of both countries – further prosperity and progress.
The telephone conversation took place at the initiative of the Turkish side.
