President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent a congratulatory letter to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his 65th birthday, the official Turkmen media reported on Sunday.
In his message, President Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan has established dynamic and effective relations with Uzbekistan, which is a close and reliable neighbor of the country, based on the principles of good neighborliness, respect and mutual support.
"The recent meetings and talks with you and the large package of signed documents during my first state visit to your wonderful country are a bright proof of that," Berdimuhamedov said in his letter.
The Turkmen President underlined his strong conviction that the traditionally fraternal relations between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan would continue to develop and strengthen for the good of the two countries and peoples. He wished President Shavkat Mirziyoyev strong health, happiness and success in his work, and wellbeing and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.
At the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a state visit to the Uzbekistan this month.
Trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the first five months of this year amounted to $322.6 million, an increase of 1.2% compared to the same period of last year.
