Turkmenbashi Refinery Processes Nearly 2.4 Million Tons of Crude Oil

Turkmenistan’s major oil processing plant Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery, located in the country’s western province of Balkan, processed nearly 2.4 million tons of crude oil in the first half of 2022, the country’s official media reported on Wednesday.

The refinery’s output includes more than 20 different fuel and petrochemical products.

During the period, the refinery located on the Caspian coast produced a total of 811 thousand tons of gasoline, including A-95, A-92 and A-80 gasolines.

The plant’s output of kerosene during the six-month period reached 218 thousand tons, which is 387 tons more compared to the same period last year.

Turkmenbashi Refinery also produced a large batches of diesel, marine fuel, liquefied gas, oil bitumen, petroleum coke, lubricants and other in demand products, according to the report.

Turkmenbashi refinery is part of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR). TCOR also includes Seydi Oil Refinery located in the country’s eastern province of Lebap. Overall, the TCOR processed 2.63 million tons of crude oil in January-June period of this year. This is nearly 70 thousand tons more compared to the same period of last year.

The products of the complex are sold on the domestic market and are exported mainly to Asia and Europe.
