Kyrgyzstan is holding negotiations on the purchase of 350 million cubic meters of natural gas from Turkmenistan, the Bishkek-based news agency 24.kg cites Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Talaibek Ibrayev as saying during the session of the Jogorku Kenesh, the Kyrgyz parliament, on Thursday.
“We have offered a price. Now my deputy is in Ashgabat on this issue," the Kyrgyz Energy Minister added.
Ibrayev also informed that the agreement was reached on the supply of 2 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyztan.
Turkmenistan has been exporting electricity to Kyrgyzstan since August 2021.
