Turkmen Entrepreneur Breeds African Ostriches
The farm is designed for keeping 2.5-3 thousand ostriches.

Entrepreneur Maysa Velmyradova, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, breeds 500 ostriches in the farm, located in the Ak Bugday district of Ahal province, the country’s Rysgal newspaper reported on Monday.

The farm occupies 5 hectares and is designed for keeping 2.5-3 thousand ostriches. The farm currently breeds African ostriches.

According to the report, African ostrich can weigh 100-160 kilograms and be up to 3 meters tall.

African ostriches, which are resistant to high heat, well adapts to the climatic conditions of Turkmenistan. Ostrich meat is also rich in useful trace elements and proteins.
