Exhibition Dedicated to UIET’s 13th Anniversary Kicks Off in Ashgabat

An exhibition organized by representatives of the private sector of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (UIET) kicked off on Wednesday at the expocenter of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ashgabat.

The two-day exhibition provides a platform for exploring the achievements of the private sector of the economy of Turkmenistan.

A conference of members of the UIET also takes place on the sidelines of the exhibition.

In a congratulatory letter sent to the participants of the exhibition and the conference of the UIET members, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that these events will contribute to the increase of products produced by Turkmen private producers in the domestic and foreign markets, and help identify the most important areas of investment and innovation in the economy.

“Making wide use of the opportunities of the private sector in various industries, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives of citizens, we will stimulate investment activity. Thus, we will further increase the current 70% share of the non-state sector in the gross domestic product,” President Berdimuhamedov said in his congratulatory letter.

The exhibition gathered nearly 200 UIET members, specializing in agriculture, food processing, construction, production of building materials and electrical equipment, trade, tourism, education, IT technologies, services, transport and logistics.

The Expocentre will also host a show of new fashionable clothing collections "Spring-Summer-2021".

Established in 2008, the UIET is a public organization, which aims to support small and medium-sized businesses in Turkmenistan, to promote the development of the private sector of the national economy and the formation of a modern enterprise infrastructure.
