Turkmenistan has reported a 103 percent growth in cargo transportation for all modes of transport in the first four months of 2023 compared to the same period last year, Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammethan Chakyyev said in his report to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a government meeting held on Thursday on the digital system.
Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications added that during the reporting period the growth rate of works and services in the complex amounted to 122.8 percent, the official Turkmen media reported.
According to the report, the growth rate for the provision of services between January and April for the agency "Türkmendemirýollary" was 103.3%, "Türkmen¬awtoulaglary" - 121.8%, "Türkmenhowaýollary" - 299.3%, "Türkmen¬deňizderýaýollary" - 109.4% and "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" - 111.7%.
Additionally, during the corresponding period, two Airbus A330-200P2F cargo planes were acquired and put into operation, new routes Ashgabat-Seoul-Ashgabat, Ashgabat-Hanoi-Ashgabat were opened for cargo shipments.
Mammetkhan Chakyyev added that the Turkmen-Azerbaijani, Turkmen-Uzbek, Turkmen-Kazakhstan, Turkmen-Russian and Turkmen-Chinese commissions on cooperation in the field of logistics were established during this period.
At the end of the report, Turkmen President focused on further development of the transport and communications industry, strengthening its material and technical infrastructure and increasing the volume of international cargo transportation, and gave the head of the Agency a number of specific instructions.
