Turkmenbashi International Sea Port offers the service of storage of various cargos and goods for up to 3 years without registration and payment of customs duties, the press service of the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary (Turkmen Maritime and River Transport) Agency reported on Friday.

According to the report, the goods placed in the customs warehouse are always under customs control, and the period of storage of goods is determined on pre-agreed terms. Companies engaged in export-import operations will be able to promptly send their goods to neighboring countries or the territory of the country, using the developed infrastructure of the seaport, convenient and spacious warehouses, and modern loading and unloading equipment.

Terminals located at the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi:

  • The Passenger Ferry Terminal consists of open and covered warehouses designed to store cargo along with vehicles and is capable of handling up to 300,000 passengers and 75,000 vehicles per year.
  • The container terminal is capable of handling 400,000 containers per year and includes covered warehouses with a total area of 9,984 square meters and open warehouses with an area of 3,060 square meters.
  • Bulk Cargo Terminal - with a total capacity of up to 3 million tons per year, is designed to handle and store iron ore, cement, coal, sulfur, grain, sugar, salt, and many other bulk cargoes. The terminal has 37 thousand square meters of open and closed warehouses with a total area of 8,512 square meters.
  • The general cargo terminal is designed for loading and unloading heavy cargo such as steel, iron, vehicles, machinery, and lumber. The terminal has 75,000 square meters of open warehouses and 26,394 square meters of closed warehouses.
  • Polypropylene terminal-capable of handling up to 120 thousand tons of polypropylene annually, has a closed warehouse.

On April 16, 2022, Turkmenbashi International Sea Port received a license for the storage of cargo following the special customs regime.
