The trade in goods and services between the UK and Turkmenistan for the period from April 2022 to March 2023 amounted to 52 million pounds, an increase 30 percent or 12 million pounds in current prices compared to the same previous period, the British Department for Business and Trade announced on Friday.
During the period, the total value of the UK’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to 37 million pounds, a year-on-year increase of one million pounds. Goods accounted for 15 million pounds (40.5 percent) of total UK exports, while services accounted for 22 million pounds (59.5 percent).
At the same period, imports from Turkmenistan to the UK have seen a year-on-year increase of 400 percent (12 million pounds) and amounted to 15 million pounds.
Of all UK imports from Turkmenistan during the period, 10 million pounds (66.7 percent) were goods and 5 million pounds (33.3 percent) were services.
The main good categories exported from the UK to Turkmenistan are chemicals, general industrial machinery, aircraft and electrical goods. The main good categories imported to the UK from Turkmenistan are inorganic chemicals, mechanical power generators, general industrial machinery, metal ores and scrap.
