Hyundai Engineering became the silver partner of the International Conference and Exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2023" (OGT 2023), which will be held on October 25-27 in Ashgabat.
Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd has been actively involved in the development of Turkmenistan's Galkynysh field since 2009. Joint efforts of the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern, representatives of oil and gas structures of the Republic of Korea and China successfully completed the initial stage of development of this energy giant in 2013. As part of the project, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd built a gas desulphurisation plant.
The company has extensive technical capabilities and is not only engaged in the development of gas fields, but is also actively involved in oil refining, which is one of the key areas of its business.
Within the framework of cooperation with LG International Corporation, Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. has launched several new process units at the Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery Complex (TORC).
Another exemplary co-operation project is the construction of a gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in the village of Kiyanly on the Caspian coast. The total cost of the project was more than $3.4 billion, and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd., Türkmengaz SC, LG International Corporation and the Japanese TOYO Engineering Corporation participated in its implementation. The plant meets global environmental standards and was awarded a certificate by the British organisation TXF as one of the ten most environmentally friendly projects in Europe and Eurasia in 2014.
OGT-2023 will focus on various important topics, including the future of energy and investment opportunities in the Turkmen oil and gas sector. There will be a particular emphasis on green energy and the environmental aspects of hydrocarbon development. Technological innovation and the role of human capital in a successful energy transition will also be highlighted.
More than 70 foreign companies have already registered to participate in OGT EXPO-2023, and more than 300 delegates will take part in the conference.
