Azerbaijani companies will connect Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the Kazakh port of Aktau to the Romanian port of Constanta.
The project includes plans to facilitate collaborative transportation using rail and sea transport methods, Kirim Haber Ajansi reported on Wednesday.
As reported, ADY Container, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways, and a Chinese company COSCO SHIPPING Lines will collaborate to implement the project.
ADY Container will transport container trains from the ports of Aktau and Turkmenbashi to the Georgian port of Batumi via the Caspian Sea and railway. The containers will then be transported from Batumi to the port of Constanta on vessels provided by COSCO SHIPPING Lines.
The Romanian port of Constanta, the largest port in the Black Sea region, holds the 17th position among the major ports in Europe. It spans an area of 3,926 hectares.
