The first passenger flight on the Ashgabat-Abu Dhabi-Ashgabat route is scheduled for January 5, 2024.
This announcement was made during a working meeting held on Thursday, attended by several Deputy Chairs of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and other leaders, as part of the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the UAE, the official Turkmen media reports.
The meeting also addressed strengthening cooperation in the transport sector and the effective use of transport and transit potential of Turkmenistan, located at the crossroads of the East-West and North-South routes.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also met with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Thursday as part of his working visit to the UAE.
