A unique combined cycle gas turbine power plant with a design capacity of 1,574 megawatts is being constructed in the Turkmenbashi district at the request of the State Energy Corporation "Türkmenenergo" under the Ministry of Energy. This corporation, the largest electricity producer in Central Asia, enables the export of surplus electricity and strengthens the national economy. The creation of extensive networks within the country's unified energy system, supported by overhead power lines connecting Ahal, Balkan, and Dashoguz, further contributes to this goal.
The construction of a high-voltage overhead power line along the Balkan-Dashoguz route was completed this year as an integral part of the national energy grid. This development has improved the quality of energy supply for domestic consumers and created favorable conditions for exporting electricity from various parts of the country. These projects represent a significant milestone in the history of the region and the national energy sector, as modern full-cycle energy infrastructure has been established through reforms implemented during the years of independence.
As part of the development of the Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake x area in the Central Karakum Desert, the first new renewable energy plant with a design capacity of 10 megawatts is being constructed in the Gyzylarbat district.
