Turkmenistan to Establish National Trade Facilitation Body
Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding under the regional project "Trade Facilitation in Central Asia" (TFCA) for 2024-2026, March 11, 2024, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The establishment of a national trade facilitation body in Turkmenistan was discussed during a roundtable meeting held in Ashgabat as part of the Steering Committee session for the regional project "Trade Facilitation in Central Asia" (TFCA).

Representatives from the "Türkmendeňizderýaýollary" agency participated in the event, which was organized by the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan in partnership with the regional TFCA project of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

Participants exchanged insights on international best practices for creating national trade facilitation committees in Central Asian countries and outlined steps for establishing such a committee in Turkmenistan.

The committee members also reviewed the ongoing implementation of the TFCA project in Turkmenistan and set priorities for short- and medium-term goals.

The "Trade Facilitation in Central Asia" (TFCA) project aims to simplify the procedures and processes of international trade in the region's countries.

Implementing trade facilitation measures has a direct positive impact on businesses by reducing time delays and optimizing government regulatory processes in foreign trade activities. As a result, the cost savings for companies contribute to improving their international competitiveness, ultimately enhancing the economic efficiency of the private sector.
