Railway Bridge Opens on Turkmen-Afghan Border
A 177-meter railway bridge of the Serhetabat–Turgundi steel route, built on the Turkmen-Afghan border.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Acting Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Afghanistan, Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, participated in ceremonies at the Islim-Çeşme border crossing in Serhetabat, marking the opening, groundbreaking, and start of construction of new infrastructure projects.

Addressing participants via digital system, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of the Serhetabat–Herat segment, named "Arkadagyň ak ýoly," which is part of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project and related power transmission, transport, and communication systems. These initiatives are expected to serve the interests of neighboring countries and the region as a whole.

The 177-meter railway bridge, built on the Turkmen-Afghan border, was inaugurated with a freight train carrying humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, further strengthening the historical ties of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighborliness between the two nations.
