Gündogar Akymy Harvests Abundant Soy Crop in Ahal Province
Soybean harvest underway in Turkmenistan

The agricultural enterprise Gündogar Akymy successfully completed its annual harvest season, gathering abundant crops of wheat and soy, reported Chary Charyyev, international news correspondent for the Altyn Asyr: Türkmenistan television channel under Turkmenistan’s State Committee for Television, Radio, and Cinematography, to the online publication Business Turkmenistan.

This spring, Gündogar Akymy planted 350 hectares of land in the Sarahs district of Ahal province with Arysoý, Superbi, and Atlas 3616 soybean varieties, applying advanced agricultural techniques to ensure high yields. State support, including modern grain harvesters, enabled the timely and efficient harvesting process. The use of quality seeds, balanced irrigation, and careful inter-row cultivation resulted in record yields, while autumn soil preparation enriched the fields with nitrogen and essential minerals.

Soybeans are a vital food and industrial crop, containing up to 50% protein, 27% fat, and around 2% carbohydrates. In addition to their use in producing vegetable oils, soybeans are essential in soap and paint production. Soy oil and meal are widely used in poultry feed, promoting rapid growth in young chickens. Due to its high nutritional value, soy is also popular in the food industry, used in producing oils, flour, margarine, sauces, sweets, and coffee blends.

Looking ahead, Gündogar Akymy plans to expand its planting area, introduce new high-yield varieties, and share its expertise with other private farmers, contributing to the growth of crop production in Turkmenistan.
