In 2024, the Astrakhan Region imported 90 batches of Turkmen tomatoes totaling over 835 tons, which is five times more than the previous year, reports MK Astrakhan.
Ahead of the New Year, 18 tons of tomatoes from Turkmenistan arrived at the seaport of Astrakhan, according to the report.
Specialists from the Rosselkhoznadzor inspected two batches of the product and issued phytosanitary certificates based on the results of laboratory tests.
The first batch of fresh tomatoes from Turkmenistan arrived in Russia directly by sea via the North-South transport corridor at the Olya checkpoint in Astrakhan.
