A videoconference held on February 10, featured discussions on enhancing cargo transport and strengthening cooperation with all interested parties, including the European Union, through the establishment of an international transit corridor linking the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea.

Heads and representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and other ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania participated in the discussions, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Tuesday.

They highlighted the expected benefits for trade relations and stressed the important role of international organizations in connecting European and Asian markets. The participants also discussed how integrating digital technologies could improve transport services, aiming to make operations smoother and more efficient in the corridor.

In conclusion, attendees expressed optimism that the intergovernmental agreement, scheduled for signing later this year, will significantly advance international freight transport between Central Asia and Europe.
