Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced plans to construct several new healthcare and medical education facilities across the country during the Halk Maslahaty session held on Friday in Ashgabat, according to official state media.
In the near future, foundation work is set to begin in Ashgabat for the multipurpose clinic of the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University, a new complex for the Indira Gandhi Secondary Medical School, another multipurpose clinic, as well as a multipurpose clinic in the city of Tejen, Ahal province.
The president also noted that international oncology centers are planned for Mary, Balkan and Lebap provinces, while a Maternal and Child Health Center will be established in Dashoguz province. These initiatives aim to introduce advanced practices in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
Construction is ongoing in the capital for the International Pediatric Center, the International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center, and a new Dental Center. In addition, a 400-bed extension is being built at the Archman health resort, the president added.
The Halk Maslahaty session, held in honor of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, addressed key issues related to ensuring the well-being of citizens and advancing the country’s socio-economic development.
