Turkmenistan highlighted the potential for establishing joint ventures, service, and educational centers in the region under the “Central Asia–Germany” format, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov said during a meeting of Central Asian foreign ministers with German Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on February 11, 2026, in Berlin.
Speaking at the plenary session, Gurbanov also emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic dialogue between Central Asian countries and Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
He noted the potential for cooperation with Germany in transport and logistics, energy, industrial production, the chemical sector, mechanical engineering, medicine and pharmaceuticals, agribusiness, water management, and developments in information technology and artificial intelligence.
On climate issues, Turkmenistan praised Germany’s role in advancing environmental initiatives, highlighting the contribution of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in implementing relevant projects.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of the Berlin Declaration, which covers a broad range of multilateral cooperation and aims to give further momentum to the “Central Asia–Germany” format.
