Uzbekistan and Oman discussed expanding cooperation under the Ashgabat Agreement with all participants of the Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Oman transport corridor.

According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the issue was discussed at a meeting between First Deputy Transport Minister Mammanbiy Omarov and an Omani delegation led by Deputy Transport Minister Khamis Al-Shammakhi. The talks were held Monday in Tashkent.

The Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Oman transport corridor, also known as the Ashgabat Agreement, aims to establish a sustainable transport and transit route linking Central Asia with the Gulf. Participants include Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, India, Pakistan and Oman.

The document provides for strengthening connectivity across the Eurasian region and coordination with other international routes, including the North-South corridor.
