Turkmenistan’s ambassador to the European Union, Sapar Palvanov, held working meetings in Brussels with the permanent representatives of Austria and Estonia to the EU to discuss the current state and prospects of Turkmenistan-EU cooperation, as well as the development of the EU–Central Asia format, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium reported Monday.
At the meeting with Austria’s EU envoy Gregor Schusteritsch, both sides praised the level of bilateral cooperation, noting regular contacts at high and top levels and active engagement of the business community. They emphasized that constructive political dialogue and expanded economic ties provide a foundation for further partnership.
The sides also welcomed planned and upcoming joint initiatives, highlighting their relevance for developing bilateral and interregional cooperation.
Later the same day, Palvanov met with Estonia’s EU envoy Laur Kuusing to review the current state of Turkmenistan-EU relations and the progress of the EU–Central Asia format.
The meetings concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to continue regular contacts and consultations to further develop Turkmenistan-EU cooperation and EU–Central Asia engagement.
