Turkmen designer Govher Pirkuliyeva presented a collection of national clothing during celebrations of the International Day of Nowruz at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Paris, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France reported Wednesday.
The fashion show featured designers from Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, who showcased traditional garments reflecting the cultural heritage of their countries.
The event was organized jointly by the permanent delegations of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Türkiye to the organization.
The celebration brought together delegations of member states and served as a platform for cultural exchange and the promotion of national traditions among countries observing Nowruz.
Nowruz was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 and is marked annually at the organization’s headquarters with the participation of international delegations.
