Turkmengas State Concern has invited Chinese companies to more actively participate in international tenders, signaling openness to expanded cooperation in the energy sector.
Deputy Chairman Myrat Archayev made the remarks at a Turkmen-Chinese business forum in Ashgabat on Wednesday, according to state media, adding that the Turkmen side is ready to engage in long-term contracts.
Archayev pointed to the TAPI gas pipeline as a key example of effective energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and China.
He cited ongoing work on the Afghan section of the pipeline, where more than 200 units of specialized construction equipment are in use, a significant share of which has been procured from Chinese manufacturers. He added that Turkmengas plans to expand its procurement of Chinese-made equipment.
Archayev also highlighted the importance of digital transformation in the sector, noting Turkmenistan’s interest in adopting advanced technologies to improve gas production efficiency. These include remote well monitoring systems, automated production control systems and integrated field management platforms.
