President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received in Ashgabat Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived to participate in the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.
Meeting With Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin:
The President of Turkmenistan noted that Russia has remained one of the country’s key trade partners for many years. Turkmenistan is interested in increasing bilateral trade volumes, expanding the range of goods and establishing closer contacts between business communities. The sides also discussed cooperation in education, healthcare, science and culture.
Meeting With Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov:
Speaking about trade and economic relations between the two countries, the President of Turkmenistan particularly highlighted the accumulated experience of bilateral cooperation in this area. Transport and logistics were named among the promising areas of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation. The importance of strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties was also emphasized.
Meeting With Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda:
During the meeting, electric power, transport, agriculture and trade, as well as the implementation of major joint infrastructure and investment projects, were identified among the promising areas of cooperation. The importance of consistently strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties was also emphasized. President Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to further developing mutually beneficial cooperation and elevating bilateral relations to a new level in the interests of the peoples of both countries.
Meeting With Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev:
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the significant potential for cooperation in transport, the oil and gas industry, electric power and agriculture, stressing Turkmenistan’s interest in further expanding interaction in these areas. Humanitarian cooperation was described as an integral part of the steadily developing bilateral relations.
Meeting With Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov:
The President of Turkmenistan warmly recalled participation in the Regional Environmental Summit (RES 2026), held in Astana on April 22, 2026, which became an important event in the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. In this regard, Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness for further comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan and expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of Turkmen-Kazakh relations in the interests of the brotherly peoples of both countries.
Meeting With Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov:
The President of Turkmenistan highlighted the special importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation in deepening bilateral interaction. Given Turkmenistan’s advantageous geographical position at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, particular attention was paid to the need for the most effective use of the existing potential, primarily in the fields of energy, logistics and transport.
The regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government was held in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat on May 22.
