Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz met with members of the Turkish business community operating in Turkmenistan during a working visit to the country, the Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat said on its official X account on Wednesday.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Turkish Business Council (DTIK) session, organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK). Yılmaz arrived in Ashgabat to attend the 9th meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and to hold a series of bilateral meetings.

Yılmaz also said on his X account that, during the visit, the Turkish delegation visited the Turkmenbashi Ruhy Mosque in Kipchak, near Ashgabat. He paid tribute to Turkmenistan’s first President Saparmurat Niyazov and members of his family, laying flowers and offering prayers at their burial site.
The Turkish vice president is expected to hold talks with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and senior government officials. Meetings are also scheduled within the framework of the 9th session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, after which the sides are expected to sign a number of documents.
Türkiye remains one of Turkmenistan’s key trade and economic partners. According to the Turkish Ministry of Trade, bilateral trade reached $2.2 billion in 2025. The two countries aim to increase this figure to $5 billion in the coming years.
