The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan held a meeting between Deputy Minister of Education Azat Ataev and a U.S. delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Sarah Rogers, the ministry reported on Monday.
The meeting discussed opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2023 and a joint roadmap.
The sides emphasized the importance of developing joint master’s programs, including MBA programs, double-degree programs, curriculum harmonization, and improving the qualifications of teaching staff.

The U.S. side proposed increasing the number of places for Turkmen participants in exchange programs and stepping up cooperation with alumni of U.S. educational programs.
The meeting also addressed expanding access to leading U.S. online education platforms in digital learning, introducing international standards for assessment of knowledge, and advanced testing and certification methods in information technologies.
At the end of the meeting, the sides discussed the feasibility of updating the joint cooperation roadmap. The updated document is expected to prioritize digital education ecosystems, artificial intelligence technologies, international accreditation of higher education institutions, and new joint university projects.
