Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Muhammetnyyaz Mashalov, held a meeting with Dato Haji Amran bin Haji Ahmad, Director-General of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department. The talks took place on Tuesday at the department’s headquarters in Putrajaya. Agamuhammet Sahedov, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia, also attended the meeting, according to Royal Malaysian Customs Department's official X account.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to further expand cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia. Particular attention was given to promoting trade, facilitating customs procedures, and strengthening intergovernmental ties.
The Director-General of the Royal Malaysian Customs Department expressed the agency’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Turkmenistan, particularly in the areas of trade and customs administration.
Turkmenistan and Malaysia established diplomatic relations in 1992. Since then, the two countries have steadily expanded cooperation in trade and economic affairs, investment, energy, and education. The discussions provided additional momentum for further strengthening the friendly and business-oriented partnership between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
