The Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Nazar Agahanov, led the country’s delegation participating in the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF-2026), held on June 16–18 in Tashkent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on Thursday.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of Albania, the Prime Ministers of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan, as well as members of governments from other countries.

The forum also brought together representatives of the U.S. business community and heads of international financial institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the New Development Bank of the BRICS, and the Eurasian Development Bank, among other development institutions.

According to the report, participants discussed issues related to energy development, transport connectivity, the digital economy and artificial intelligence, the development of mineral resources, food security, as well as the improvement of modern financial mechanisms and investment instruments.

Turkmenistan’s participation in the forum reflects its consistent commitment to expanding mutually beneficial regional and international cooperation, strengthening trade and economic ties, and developing investment partnerships.
