Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kenya to Turkmenistan John Maina Mwangi presented his credentials to Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmen state media reported on Thursday.
On behalf of the President, Gulmanova congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in strengthening bilateral relations. Mwangi thanked the Turkmen side for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes from Kenya’s leadership to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The sides discussed the development of Turkmen-Kenyan cooperation. The ambassador was briefed on Turkmenistan’s peaceful foreign policy and international initiatives aimed at promoting global well-being and sustainable development. Turkmenistan also reaffirmed its interest in expanding cooperation with African countries.
The two sides confirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, particularly within the United Nations and other international organizations. At the conclusion of the meeting, Mwangi said it was an honor to represent Kenya in Turkmenistan and pledged to work toward further strengthening friendly ties between the two countries.
