Turkmen President Receives Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Yoshihiko Isozaki, who arrived in Turkmenistan on an official visit on Thursday, the State news agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.

During the meeting, the sides thoroughly exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, including through the implementation of new joint projects.

Chemical industry, including oil and gas, transport and communications sector and logistics, advanced technologies, and agriculture were considered as important areas for bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.

Yoshihiko Isozaki expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen Leader for the opportunity to take part in the opening ceremony of a super-modern plant for the production of environmentally friendly synthetic fuel. The plant is the first large-scale industrial project in the world to produce synthetic gasoline from natural gas.

The construction of the plant was jointly carried out by Turkmengaz State Concern, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Japan) and Rönesans Holding (Turkey).
