A seminar for agronomists and farmers - members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) took place at the Olympia Hotel in Ashgabat, the Union announced Tuesday.

USAID Competitiveness, Trade and Job Creation Project in Central Asia, in collaboration with Turkmen business community, organized the seminar themed “Model and original methods of forming and pruning apple trees, cherries and grapes, preparing orchards for winter”.

Sergey Oleichenko, consultant coach, doctor of agricultural sciences with a degree in fruit growing, gave the master class for Turkmen farmer-entrepreneurs during the seminar.

The seminar participants, more than 20 agronomists and farmers from Ashgabat and Ahal velayat were acquainted with the physiological foundations of proper preparation of plants for winter, modern methods of pruning them using special tools, the advantages of the optimal High System physical model, as well as other relevant issues related to seasonal agricultural activities.

Practical classes on the topic of the seminar are held on November 27-28 at orchard sites in Ahal and Mary velayats.
