International experts and doctors note that protection against coronavirus, including other infectious diseases, begins, first of all, with personal hygiene.
All countries in the world are taking measures to prevent the spread of virus. Experts of medical institutions through various media convey to people ways of protection against infectious diseases.
In winter, acute respiratory infections are widespread. This is due to a number of reasons, such as a decrease in immunity due to the common cold, a lack of vitamins, and a long stay in closed and unventilated rooms. In this case, the concentration of pathogens increases considerably.
The Health Information Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan informed the State news agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) correspondent how to protect themselves and their relatives from acute respiratory diseases.
In order to protect against diseases, including seasonal, everyone should follow the rules of personal hygiene and be an example for their children. Because the seasonal diseases are transmitted by airborne droplets, every day in the morning it is necessary to lubricate the nasal mucosa with oxoline ointment.
If the virus - the causative agent of the disease enters the nasal membrane, then it changes the cellular structure and leads to the appearance of signs of acute respiratory disease (fever, sneezing, coughing, weakness).
If a person previously had a chronic disease, then this as a complication becomes the cause of its exacerbation. There are different viruses, pathogens of the disease, they can mutate as well, so it is necessary to prevent the disease.
The patient should refrain from visiting crowded places, as he can infect other people. When the first symptoms of the disease appear, the person must immediately consult a doctor, undergo an examination, and take only medications prescribed by the medical specialist. When sneezing or coughing, the patients should cover their mouth and nose with a handkerchief.
The patient should properly take a doctor’s treatment at home. If the condition worsens (especially in children), it is imperative to call an emergency ambulance. The patient should not independently, without the recommendation of a doctor, take medicines, including antibacterial drugs. This can reduce immunity, having a negative effect on the immune system, and become the main cause of vitamin deficiency.
To remove the flu virus from the body, the patient must take diaphoretic nutrient fluids. They should contain vitamins, in particular vitamin C or ascorbic acid. Diaphoretic nutrient fluids also include mint tea, tea with bee honey and lemon, tea with strawberry jam, chicken broth, and noodle soup with garlic. If the consumption of the above becomes a person’s habit in the winter, it will considerably increase immunity.
It is necessary to ensure the influx of fresh air by often opening the windows of working and living rooms.
During the change of seasons, various changes occur in the human body. In order to facilitate the adaption, it is necessary to help the immune system. Excessive fatigue, a long stay in too hot, unventilated or cold rooms, eating cold food also adversely affects the body, which as a result loses its ability to fight pathogens.
Therefore, it is necessary to dress according to the season, take comprehensive measures for the prevention of diseases. This will reduce temporary and sustained disability, and lead to medical and economic efficiency.
