President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldi Meredov, who oversees the oil and gas industry, to further modernize the country's oil and gas complex and expand cooperation with foreign companies during the video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday.
The Head of State said the efficient use of the country's rich hydrocarbon resources would give new impetus to the dynamic development of the national economy, create new industries specializing in deep oil and gas processing and expand the export routes of Turkmen energy resources to international markets.
All this opens up great opportunities for investment and productive cooperation with representatives of foreign business circles, according to the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Head of State also instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to expand cooperation with foreign companies operating in Turkmenistan, including Petronas, Dragon Oil, China National Petroleum Corporation, Kawasaki, Sojitz, TOYO, Mitsubishi, ITOCHU, LG, Hyundai, Eni, MitroInternational, Petrofac, Tatneft, and Rönesans Holding.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Turkmen Leader held a working meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldi Meredov and Chairman of the Türkmennebit State Concern Guychgeldi Baygeldiyev, where they discussed issues of improving the activity of the fuel and energy complex and its further development, taking into account the complex world situation.
