President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on Thursday with the participation of Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers Purli Agamyradov and Gadyrgeldi Mushshikov. The meeting participants discussed the measures to mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the national economy and the progress of educational reforms.
Deputy Prime Minister Agamyradov briefed on improving the effectiveness of the healthcare system, and outlined the results of comprehensive measures to prevent coronavirus infection in the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that work is currently underway to train personnel in the specialties that are in demand for sectors of the economy, and to introduce modern teaching methods in secondary vocational schools. At the same time, the country's educational institutions are preparing for the admissions, according to Agamyradov.
The Head of State underlined that large-scale activities aimed at preventing the spread of a dangerous infectious disease should be carried out regularly and based on scientific data.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said it is necessary to ensure a high organizational level of entrance exams for applicants of domestic higher educational institutions.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Mushshikov then reported on the work to further develop the banking and financial sectors, the introduction of the latest methods and technologies, the organization of activities of subordinate structures taking into account the current situation.
Following the report, the Turkmen President noted the importance of the development of the country's economy on a scientific basis, and also instructed to introduce modern methods of economic management.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed to comprehensively prepare for the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the development of the national economy for the first half of the year and to prepare proposals for the successful solution of existing challenges.
