Turkmen Bank to Start Issuing Milli Visa Karty Payment Cards
The aim of new Milli VISA Karty bank cards is to expand the range of cashless payments.

The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan intends to start issuing new Milli VISA Karty bank cards with the aim of expanding the range of cashless payments, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reported on Friday.

According to the report, Deputy Prime Minister Gabyrgeldi Mushshikov reported to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the new bank cards during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday.

The Deputy Prime Minister said a new type of bank card opens up great opportunities for the further development of the country's banking sector and for connecting the national payment system to a modern international network.

Mushshikov also informed about the modernization of sectors of the national economy, improvements in the quality of services provided by credit institutions of the country based on modern information and communication technologies.

Summarizing the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that increasing the number of banking products confirming to international standards, introducing advanced practices and innovative technologies into the activities of specialized institutions are among the main tasks.

In this regard, the Head of State instructed to intensify work on introducing a new type of Milli VISA Karty bank cards into circulation and addressed specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister.

The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan had started issuing new international bank cards, VISA Classic Syýahat and MasterCard Standard Syýahat, on November 1 last year.
