Turkmen President Reshuffles Management of Country’s Oil and Gas Complex
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the production activities of concerns should be improved based on the situation that arose from the decline of global prices for hydrocarbon resources.

During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Friday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reassigned and relieved a number of heads of the country's oil and gas industry, the Turkmen State News Agency (TDH) reports.

The Head of State relieved Myrat Archayev from the post of State Minister - Chairman of the Türkmengaz State Concern for his shortcomings in the work. The President appointed Batyr Amanov as the Head of the State Concern, relieving him of the post of General Director of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR). Temporary performance of duties of the general director was assigned to the chief engineer of the enterprise.

The President of Turkmenistan then dismissed Hojamuhammet Geldiyev from the post of rector of the International University of Oil and Gas due to his transfer to another job and appointed Shahym Abdyrahmanov to the post of rector of theuniversity, relieving him of the post of Chairman of Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation.

The Head of State appointed Merdan Roziyev as Chairman of the Türkmengeologiýa State Corporation, dismissing him from the post of Deputy Chairman of the corporation and instructed to offer a decent candidate for the vacant post as soon as possible.

Addressing Deputy Prime Minister Myratgeldi Meredov and the heads of the Oil and Gas Complex, the Head of State noted that, despite the fact that over the past 6 months, the main production indicators in the complex were fulfilled according to established plans, some of them had slow growth rates compared to the same period last year.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the production activities of concerns should be improved based on the situation that arose from the decline of global prices for hydrocarbon resources.

The Turkmen leader also noted the need to intensify the development of oil and gas complexes in the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea and increase the amount of foreign investments by increasing the attractiveness of these complexes.
