Ýigit Economic Society plans to produce at least 10 thousand tons of vegetable products this year. The company engaged in cultivation of Merlice, Tomimaro Mucho and Juanita tomato varieties using Dutch technology exported around 2.8 thousand tons of the products and 3.8 thousand tons sold in the domestic market during the first six months this year, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reported on Friday.
Ýigit had built a high-tech greenhouse complex with an area of 34 hectares on a 1,000 hectares of land allocated to the company in Ahal velayat’s Kaka etrap. The agricultural company grows grain and vegetable crops on the 600 hectares of farmland.
The company aims to harvest 150 tons of mung beans, 300 tons of millet and 90 tons of melons and watermelons this year.
The Turkmen company mainly exports its products to Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and the UAE. The agricultural company employs over 500 people.
The company was established in 2008 and has been engaged in agriculture since 2016.
At the IV Annual International Exhibition Greenhouse Complexes Russia and CIS 2019 held in Moscow, the Ýigit Economic Society won the diploma and the cup in the nomination “Innovative breakthrough in the greenhouse industry in the CIS”.
