Turkmenistan to Purchase 14,000 Winter Potato Seeds From Russian Company
Winter potatoes, vegetables and other crops will be cultivated on 21 thousand hectares of land throughout Turkmenistan in 2020.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan is authorized to conclude a contract with the VEYA INVEST Limited Liability Company of the Russian Federation for the purchase of 14 thousand tons of winter potato seeds.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the relevant Resolution on Friday, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.

According to report, the Resolution was signed in order to increase the efficiency of Turkmen agricultural producers and implement Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan No. 1772 of May 29, 2020. “On sowing in the velayats and growing in 2020 high yields of winter potatoes, vegetables and other agricultural crops”.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection is instructed to ensure the cultivation of high yields of winter potatoes, vegetables and other crops on the allocated 21 thousand hectares of land throughout Turkmenistan in 2020. The Ministry was also instructed to conclude, in the prescribed manner, agreements with tenants, land users and landowners on the purchase of manufactured products at a contract price and to ensure timely payment of funds to the producers.

VEYA INVEST LLC, registered in Moscow, is a diversified company and is mainly engaged in wholesale trade.
