Construction of Ring Power System Starts in Turkmenistan
The first section of the ring power system will be 450 kilometers long.

"Türkmenenergogurluşyk" (Turkmenenergyconstruction) Concern launched the implementation of a large-scale project to create a ring power transmission system in Turkmenistan. The company is presently working on the construction of reinforced concrete foundations for the Ahal-Balkan and Balkan-Dashoguz power lines.

According to the Turkmenistan Golden Age news outlet’s Monday report, the construction of the Serdar-220 electric substation is also underway.

The first section of the ring power system will be 450 kilometers long. In addition, the company will lay 560 kilometers of overhead power transmission lines with a voltage of 500 kV and commission two substations with a voltage of 500/220/110 kV and two with a voltage of 220/110 kV.

According to the Concern's specialists, the entire route will be divided into several sections to speed up the work. The Turkish company Çalik Enerji will install telemechanics, communications and SCADA systems for high-voltage power lines and stations.

The Asian Development Bank funds the project.
