Turkmenistan, WCO Hold Seminar on Accession to Revised Kyoto Convention
The Kyoto Convention, adopted in 1973, is one of the most significant international legal documents in the field of customs and involves the creation of unified principles of customs policy.

Officials of Turkmenistan and World Customs Organization held a virtual working seminar last Friday, State Customs Service of Turkmenistan said in a Monday press release.

The seminar focused on the issues of Turkmenistan's accession to the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures (Revised Kyoto Convention). Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov announced the proposal to join the convention during the Government meeting on September 11.

Around twenty representatives of Turkmenistan, including from the State Customs Service and trade related agencies of the country, attended the online seminar.

The WCO Experts shared with participants their knowledge of the Revised Kyoto Convention and with requirements and conditions for joining the convention.
