Ashgabat, Seoul Mull Bolstering of Business Ties
Turkmen and Korean officials discussed the organization of the 4th meeting of Turkmen-Korean Business Council in Seoul in 2021.

Eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation held via a video conference format on Monday focused in diversification of mutually beneficial cooperation in a wide range of areas.

According to the TDH news agency’s report, the meeting participants noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral ties established in recent years, characterized by positive dynamics.

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached and further steps aimed at deepening interaction in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

In this regard, the officials noted the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation in the creation of high-tech industries based on the processing of local raw materials in such industries as gas and petrochemicals, chemicals, electric power and agriculture.

The members of the commission from the Korean side emphasized their readiness to continue productive partnership and participation in Turkmenistan’s important national and regional projects.

The sides also expressed mutual interest in continuing cooperation in a number of other areas, including the construction sector, the textile industry, communications, culture, science, education, sports, healthcare and water resources management.

Noting the importance of establishing business contacts, the parties discussed the organization of the 4th meeting of Turkmen-Korean Business Council in Seoul in 2021.

A proposal was made to establish links between the commodity exchanges of the two countries, to hold exhibitions, conferences, business meetings and forums on a regular basis.

The participants of the online meeting expressed confidence that all the agreements reached will give a new impetus to deepening the multifaceted Turkmen-Korean dialogue in the interests of both states and their peoples.

The officials signed a Protocol following the meeting.
