Representatives of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan and Egypt held talks in a video conference format on Thursday, Turkmenistan’s Golden Age news outlet reports.
The Turkmen side was represented by heads and officials of Türkmennebit (Turkmen Oil), Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) and Türkmenhimiýa (Turkmen Chemicals) State Concerns, while the Egyptian side was represented by heads and representatives of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and a number of leading Egyptian oil and gas companies.
The meeting participants expressed the interest of the two countries in the development of relations in wide range of areas. The parties discussed promising projects in Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector, including petrochemical developments and the possibility of Egyptian specialists' participation in them. The sides exchanged views on the prospects for establishing contacts between business circles and establishing mechanisms for the exchange of experience between specialists of the two countries.
The officials also considered the possibilities of organizing joint events, including conferences and forums, aimed at expanding mutually beneficial partnership.
The development of cooperation with African countries is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.
