Telecommunications companies in Turkmenistan have reduced prices for their unlimited home internet plans. The updated cost of internet plans were revealed today on the official websites of the Türkmentelekom telecommunications company and the Aşgabat Şäher Telefon Ulgamy (Ashgabat City Telephone Network) CJSC.
The monthly cost of unlimited home internet plans now stands at 100 manats for a 256 kbps speed, 150 manats for 512 kbps speed, 170 manats for 1 Mbps speed and 200 manats for a 2 Mbps speed.
Previously, the unlimited home internet plan with a speed of 256 kbps costed 50 manats, a 512 kbps plan costed 250 manats, a 1 Mbps plan costed 300 manats and a 2 Mbps plan costed 350 manats.
During the government meeting on Saturday, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed Vice-Premier Bayramgeldy Ovezov to revise the prices for the internet and other communication services, and to ensure the wide availability of the internet for the population.
Turkmentelecom is a national telecommunications company in Turkmenistan founded on April 7, 1993. The head office is located in the city of Ashgabat. It has branches in all regions of the country.
Aşgabat Şäher Telefon Ulgamy (AŞTU) state enterprise was registered in January 1994. Based on the decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated April 17, 2015, AŞTU was transformed into a closed joint-stock company.
