Turkmenistan Aims to Harvest 82 Thousand Tons of Rice
The farmers of Dashguz velayat are expected to harvest 35 thousand tons of rice from 8.1 thousand hectares of land.

Turkmenistan plans to produce 82,400 tons of rice from 18,300 hectares of land this year. The farmers of Dashguz velayat are expected to harvest 35 thousand tons of rice from 8.1 thousand hectares and the farmers of Lebap velayat are expected to harvest 47.4 tons of rice from 10.2 hectares.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a relevant Resolution on rice production during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, the country’s official media reports.

During the government meeting, the Vice-Premier Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev reported that in the agro-industrial complex, the growth rate of production, work performed and services in comparison with the same period last year amounted to 103.8%.

Addressing the Vice-Premier Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, hyakims (governors) of velayats and heads of the agricultural complex, the Turkmen President noted that two important campaigns are approaching – wheat harvest and cotton harvest, adding that necessary preparations should be taken in this regard.
