Uzbekistan expects that the third consultative meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, scheduled for 2021, will be held in-person, Gazeta.uz online publication report citing Sherzod Asadov, the Press Secretary of the President of Uzbekistan, as saying during a briefing on Monday.
The Press Secretary said the pandemic do not allow to name the place and time of the summit.
“Work in this direction continues. But the most important thing is that we are working to ensure that this meeting takes place in-person. The online format is not considered,” Sherzod Asadov said at the briefing.
The third consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia was originally scheduled for August 2020 in Bishkek, then the summit was postponed until autumn, but due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic it was postponed to this year.
